which was the seat of Clan Fletcher. Some of the woodland garden
features date back to the days of Clan Fletcher, the nearby castle
is open to visitors and there are lovely views to the 'A' listed Telford
Bridge. There are some fine specimen trees, one, the Stronardron
Douglas Fir, is officially the tallest tree in the UK, and guests can
sit out and enjoy outdoor living and barbecues in seclusion with

Glendaruel is centrally located adjacent to the Loch Lomond
National Park and minutes from the Cowal Way. There are many
forest trails, cycle routes and hill walking in the local area as well
as fishing, golf and sailing. It is well placed for day trips to
Edinburgh and Glasgow, guests can board the train at Balloch and
be in Glasgow in under an hour. A ferry trip to the Isle of Bute is
easily arranged and a visit to the world famous Mount Stewart
House is a must. . The Lodge’s location makes an ideal base
for exploring Cowal, Loch Fyne, Loch Lomond, The
Trossachs, Kintyre, Oban and Glencoe plus easy access via
one of the shortest ferry crossings in the world to the Island
of Bute. Local leisure activities include walking, cycling,
birdwatching, golf, fishing, pony trekking and quad-biking. A sailing
and windsurfing school is based in Tighnabruaich (9 miles).
