The Stronardron Douglas fir
(Pseudotsuga menziesii)
stands 209ft high (63.79
metres).
The tree, in our grounds
dominates the landscape
and tops its nearest rival by
nearly 4ft.
Chris Hunter, of Urban
Forestry who helped
measure it for the Tall Trees
Project, said he had never
tackled anything so tall in
his 17 years of climbing
trees.

and is situated in 3 acres of
its own woodland.
